Big Bend Hospice recognizes that each patient is unique and requires a different level of care. We are able to respond by offering the care that meets the patients need in the location that is most appropriate and comfortable. Categories of care include:
Routine Home Care
We deliver services wherever the patient calls home, whether they live in a private home, an assisted living facility, nursing home or hospital. Our team of professionals schedule regular home visits to ensure the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of the patient and family are met.
Inpatient Care
If pain or symptoms cannot be controlled at home, the patient might be taken to Hospice House or a hospital. When the symptoms are under control, the patient can return home.
Short Term Critical Care (Continuous Care)
If the patient experiences a medical crisis that needs close medical attention, Big Bend Hospice can arrange for staff to provide around-the-clock care in the home, nursing home or assisted living facility. When the crisis is over, the patient can return to routine home care.
Respite Care
Many patients have their own caregivers, often family members. When caregivers need a rest from their caregiving responsibilities, patients can stay in a nursing home or other inpatient care center for up to five days.
