Dr. David Robinson, Medical Director
Dr. Robinson was raised in Tallahassee and received his undergraduate degree from Davidson College in North Carolina. He graduated from the University of Florida School of Medicine in 1986 and completed his residency and internship at Medical College of Virginia Hospitals. Dr. Robinson was in private practice in Tallahassee with Southern Medical Group from 1989 to 2004 and served as a board member at Big Bend Hospice for ten years. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and in Hospice and Palliative Care by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Robinson has been the full time Medical Director of Big Bend Hospice since 2004
Dr. Ron Hartsfield, Assistant Medical Director
Dr. Hartsfield was born and raised in Tallahassee and received his undergraduate degree from FSU in psychology. He graduated from the University of Florida Medical School in 1984. His residency and internship was at the University of Alabama in Birmingham Hospitals. Dr. Hartsfield was Board Certified in Internal Medicine in 1987 and practiced Internal Medicine in Dothan, Alabama for 13 years covering hospital, office and nursing home patients through his practice. He has been a Hospice Medical Director for 9 years. In 2008 Dr. Hartsfield earned certification from the American Board of Internal Medicine in Hospice and Palliative Medicine.
Big Bend Hospice also has Associate Medical Directors in every community we serve. They work with the patient’s own physician in providing quality end of life care.
